61 Day Weights Taken

The 24th North Dakota Angus Association Bull Test 61 day weights were taken on Jan. 23 at Ridl Farms, Dickinson, ND. The Bull Test sale is scheduled for Monday, April 23, at Stockmen's Livestock Exchange, Dickinson, ND.

L.J. and Janet Dohrmann of Taylor, ND Bull Test Committee Chairmen, report that 72 bulls consigned by 28 Angus breeders are competing in a 112-day test. At the 61-day mark the 72 bulls had an average weight of 1074, an average daily gain of 3.65 pounds and a weight per day of age of 3.27 pounds.

Leading the average daily gain at the 61-day mark with a gain of 4.34 pounds per day is Lot 13, a son of Wildes Armour 6210 consigned by Schmidt Angus Ranch, Gladstone, ND. In second place with a gain of 4.31 pounds per day is Lot 68, a son of Sitz Upward 10107 consigned by Farview Angus Ranch, Regent, ND. In third place with a gain of 4.30 pounds per day is Lot 25, a son of Mytty In Focus consigned by Brooks Chalky Butte Ranch, Bowman, ND.

Leading the WDA at 3.82 pounds per day is Lot 10, a son of SAV Peacemaker 3179 consigned by Schmidt Angus Ranch, Gladstone, ND. In second place, is Lot 64 with a weight per day of age of 3.69, a son of Tokach Update 9009, consigned by Evenson Angus, Hettinger, ND. In third place is Lot 48 with a weight per day of age of 3.68, a son of SAV Iron Mountain consigned by Carlson Angus, Regent, ND.
